It may still be clear and dry here in Calgary, but when we went to Lake Louise and Banff last weekend, it was almost a Winter wonderland!
Bow Lake in late Spring:
Lake Louise in late Spring:
It was my very first attempt at landscape photography. I was not even prepared to do some as I did not bring a tripod with me and the lens that I used was not wide enough for my intended shot. But I like how these two turned out.
Doing it for the first, semi-serious time gave me a deeper respect of real landscape photographers. It was tough! It’s either you wait for the time of the day for the perfect sunlight or take what you have at that moment, which I did. Patience surely is a virtue when it comes to landscape photography (or in other forms too) and I hope to develop mine.
After what we saw during our short trip, my wife and I made a vow, albeit a shallow one, but what the hey, to come back next Spring or Summer. I will make it a point to prepare for it and make good use of the opportunity to shoot better pictures.
