I am finding myself spending an hour each morning before going to work trying to come up with images for my Project 365.

It’s great because I am learning to take more photographs. Hopefully that would pave the way to make me a better photographer.

My latest one for today’s theme was taken indoors as it was too cold to go out. I call it “Edward and the Blues”:

365/006 Wide Wednesday: Edward and the Blues

Featuring my Edward Norton look-a-like Hot Toys US Army Ranger, sans gear and with a borrowed guitar from my other scale figure.

Tried the Lensbaby effect using PS. I hate doing these kind of stuff on my images but for this one I find that it worked very well.

Oh, I hope it’s not too late, but I am seriously thinking of putting up a photography blog and dump all my photos there so I can get this one back on track, animation wise. Seriously.

Until next time, enjoy the rest of the day!

Braved -15°C of chilling snow to take some toy portraiture for my Toy Tuesday Project 365:

Project 365/Day 5 Toy Tuesday: Definitely Chillin'

I initially thought about doing it inside the warm coziness of my bathroom, but the snow outside beckoned and was a photo shoot opportunity not to miss! I was hurrying to take the pictures though, because my hands were starting to hurt from all that cold. In fact, I couldn’t believe how I had to kneel down on snow just to take this shot! Talk about commitment.

Have a nice day!

Macro Monday

I almost didn’t make any image this morning to post for my Project 365.

It’s a good thing my commitment is strong!

Today is Macro Monday so I tried to be creative by playing around with some matches:

Project 365/Day 4 Macro Monday: Curious Redheads

Horrors of horrors, this blog truly has become a dumping ground for my photos! I was seriously thinking of creating a separate blog for this project but what the hey, I am at Day 4 already so might as well go for it.

Have a nice day!

Snowy Sunday.

Snowy Sunday:

Project 365/Day 3 Snowy Sunday

Hold on, it’s supposed to be Sunny Sunday according to my Project 365 that I posted here.

Cheated as this was not taken today and varied the theme a bit. You wouldn’t believe how much I racked my brain the whole morning trying to come up with something for today’s image!

But I liked this one, so there!

Have a nice day!

Second day of my Project 365 which I posted here.

It’s remarkable how this personal endeavor has me going! I think my hobby has found the spark that it needed!

It’s Sunrise/Sunset Saturday, so here’s Day 2:

Posted about doing a personal project called Project 365 with the aim of creating an image and posting it for one whole year.

Project 365/Day 1: Happy New Year!

I think I am off to a good start!

I’ve posted earlier about my plan to take at least one photograph a day to help me improve my photography skill. I call it my own personal Project 365.

I’ve been practicing since after challenging myself with that post. Hopefully, I can commit to it as the New Year is just a few days away and I intend to be able to post an image on Day One.

Meanwhile, here’s why I should have a camera with me all of the time. We saw this after getting home from church last Sunday:

Crossroad In The Sky

Practiced some sunset photography as well, but was not particularly happy with it:

Sunset At The Winter Backyard

Now the only question is should I create a new blog so that this one will not be a dumping ground for my photography project.

We shall see. Until then, have a nice day!

No Gift Too Small.

Belated as it may be, A Merry Christmas To All!

I feel bad that I was not able to take as much pictures as I can during this Christmas Season.  There are so many things to photograph!  You get your Winter environment and Christmas lights and gorgeous sunrise and sunsets!  I should really get off the couch and try to capture these!  Sadly, I am only limited to taking pictures during family events during which I get a chance to really use my camera.

Such was the time that I can take images just like this one of the gingerbread house that my wife’s nieces and nephews made during Christmas Eve:

Gingerbread Roof

I also think the image on this Christmas balls really says Merry Christmas:

Merry Christmas

A bit belated, but a Merry Christmas to all!

Part 2 of my Getting Back On Track post would have to wait.

Calgary is deep in the grasp of this year’s Winter!  I just had to go out and take a photo to document it.

Not being much of a landscape photographer, I decided to go close and take some snow pictures:

Winter Bough

It was really frigid yesterday morning so I had to really hurry out and take the picture before I freeze! I know I should spend more on set up, but I will do that next time!

Until then, have a nice day!
