There was a heavy fog this morning when I drove Liza to her office.
On the way to her work, we saw two coyotes running at a field by the side of the road.
There were a lot of open wheat fields in between warehouse and industrial buildings along the route that we take on our way to her office. Our house is almost at the outskirt of Calgary, so this is not the first time that we saw some of these wild animals. When we were still staying at my sister-in-law’s house at Chestermere, a town just outside of Calgary, we used to see Coyotes crossing the highway. It was a pretty exciting sight but scary at the same time lest I end up running over them at 100 kph.
Back to the pair that we saw this morning: we wondered if they had a den nearby or if they were sort of displaced by the fog. Liza and I also wondered if they were in any way related to domestic dogs. With their pointed snouts, I tend to think they were related to foxes.
It’s during those times that I wished I had a camera with me.
